Presenting Your Company
When presenting your company be direct and to the point, presenting as much information while being as concise as you can. A slide deck of 18 - 20 slides with back-ups should be fine. Don't attempt to cover up or hide any weaknesses -- instead, identify them and plans to correct. Below is a guideline that identifies what we look for.
Company Definition
- Define what the company does in a single clear sentence
Customer Problem
- Describe what problem or pain the target customer has today
- Detail how the customer attempts to solve the problem now and its inadequacies
- Give examples of the inadequent solution and problems caused
Your Solution
- Show how your product clearly solves the customer problem better than anyone else
- Detail what is proprietary about your product
- Show the customer ROI and case studies if applicable
Market Size and Opportunity
- Identify the customer segments you will sell to -- list actual companies
- Calculate the market size from a tops down and bottoms up perspective
- Show why the time is right for your solution
Competitive Position
- List your competitors
- List your competitive advantages and compare them to your competitors
Intellectual Property and Products
- Describe your intellectual property and positions
- Demonstrate your product in its current state
- Describe the future product roadmap
Business Model
- Show how you will make money
- Show product pricing and average customer size
- Define how you will sell your product - direct, channels, etc
- Show your sales pipeline and/or targeted customer list
- Define who buys the product and how purchase decisions get made
Current Team
- Short bio on Executive Team
- Board of Directors/Board of Advisors
- Identify any key holes in team
Financial Projections
- P&L
- Balance sheet
